PROUTY: BIKE
Welcome to Prouty: Bike! The Prouty's bike option is our most popular and with good reason! With seven route options to choose from, there's a distance and terrain for everyone. All our routes are scenic, well marked, fully supported and FUN! Choose from our route options below and please be mindful of your route selection; while our rides are supported, riders are expected to select routes based on their experience levels.
Prouty Bike takes place on Saturday, July 13 in Hanover, NH.
50-Mile Route Cancelled – As you may be aware, a significant rock slide took place in February on Interstate I-91 in Fairlee, Vermont. In response, Vermont’s Agency of Transportation has closed the interstate to all southbound traffic between Exit 15 in Fairlee and Exit 16 in Bradford, and is detouring all southbound interstate traffic onto VT. Rte. 5 in Bradford, which, is a primary corridor for Prouty cyclists. The scope of this work will extend beyond July, and with over 8,000+ vehicles being diverted daily, it is simply unsafe to proceed with the 50-mile ride in this area. We hope to bring the 50-mile route back in 2025.
NEW FOR 2024 – We're thrilled to announce our new Prouty Mountain Bike Ride! Enjoy 18 miles of fun climbs and thrilling downhills. Our Mountain Bike route is designed for intermediate riders, and will be capped at 200 bikers (with 50 spots held for women until February 29th). Don't miss out – register today! Please note: like all Prouty routes, The Prouty Mountain Bike is NOT a race. The Mountain Bike route will open after the 8am ceremony with a controlled, staggered start.

Note: The Lyme/Thetford Bridge Rehabilitation Project has been on the Prouty’s radar for some time. The bridge will close starting in April of 2023, until its scheduled completion in October of 2024. Working with local municipalities and law enforcement agencies, alternative cycling routes have been determined. Homebound riders on NH. Rte. 10 will be diverted southward onto River Road starting in Orford, NH. River Road is in good repair, with many sections of the roadway having been resurfaced within the last year. It will make for an enjoyable ride with scenic views of the Connecticut River.
