Cardigan Mountain School
Each July, a dedicated and fun group of Cougars forms a team for The Prouty, “northern New England's largest family-friendly fundraising event combining cycling, walking, rowing, golf, and more to raise funds and awareness for life-saving research and critical patient and family support services at the Dartmouth Cancer Center.”
This year our Cardigan team will be led by an honorary captain, Cardigan’s Health Center Assistant Diane Hines P’17, who recently disclosed she has been privately undergoing treatment for cancer.
Why join or support the Cardigan Prouty team? Ms. Hines puts it best: “How very lucky we are to have access to such valuable medical care and resources at the Dartmouth Cancer Center. Along with the exceptional doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff, the state-of-the-art technology and life-saving care they offer––while keeping the patient's quality of life in the forefront––is irreplaceable. I am very privileged. The support from my Cardigan family has been overwhelming, and their dedication to such an important cause shows how much they care for not only the Cardigan community but the much larger community of thousands of people who depend on the cancer center!”
Director of Health Services Karen Gray and former Prouty honorary captain agrees: “This event helps to see wellness instead of illness, empowers rather than defeats, and provides hope rather than doubt to those of us determined to overcome cancer.”
