Team JFP Runner
Welcome to Team JFP (formerly Local Legends).
In early January we lost our dear friend Jimmy Proctor without warning. Jimmy was one of the original Local Legends team members and by far the most legendary. While Jimmy didn’t personally experience cancer, he watched too many family members and friends fight this dreaded disease with varying outcomes. He was deeply committed to The Prouty and its significant contributions in the fight to eradicate cancer. He participated in countless Proutys dating back to the 2nd annual when he and a friend joined the original four nurses on their second adventure. Jimmy was generous with his time and resources beyond measure and set an example we should all strive to match. Considering this, we are dedicating our Prouty Team and fundraising efforts in his memory. Please help us honor our dear friend by joining our team or donating in support of our effort. No amount is too small so please do what you can.
Thank you!
Team JFP
Additionally, I will be honoring friends and family who have lost their battle to cancer of many kinds. The fight is not over, it is continuous, long, and extensive. I would like to give a special thanks to the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation for their efforts in matching all donations. Recently, we have experienced first hand how the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation has created a safe, warm, and comforting space for Palliative and Hospice Care for my grandfather. Although he did not have cancer, much like Jimmy, he was an outdoorsmen, who spent every second he could in the wild. The Jack Byrne Center's staff and nurses deserve to be recognized aswell. There are so many factors that contribute to my drive in wanting to continue to be a part of The Prouty, and I am honored to be a part of this team in their fundraising efforts.
This year, I will be participating in The Prouty along with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for Dartmouth Cancer Center.
More than one third of all people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetimes.* It’s a universal problem that touches everyone, including the most important people in our lives. That’s why I joined The Prouty. All of the funds I raise go toward cutting-edge cancer research and crucial patient support services at the Cancer Center. Hope starts here!
Here are two ways that you can help support patients, doctors and caregivers in the fight against cancer:
- Join me! Register for The Prouty today.
- Make a gift to my Prouty fundraiser and help me reach my goal. Click the ‘donate’ button to support my efforts in the 2025 Prouty.
All funds raised will help fund innovative researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Prouty funds also provide meaningful patient and family support services that are otherwise unfunded—such as support groups, massage, art therapy programs, transportation and grocery assistance, and more.
Thank you for your support!
Hope starts here. Hope starts with you.
