This year, I will be biking in The Prouty along with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for Dartmouth Cancer Center.  I'll be riding with Stu's Crew, to honor Stuart Close, a really special man who kicked cancer's ass for over a decade but lost his battle this spring. I'll also be riding in honor of my Mother, my husband, my father-in-law, my aunts, and an ever growing lost of friends who battle, or have lost their battle to, this terrible disease.

I'll also be honoring my son Harry, who spends his days studying cancer cells under a microscope at Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) supporting research in hopes of a cure.  I keep telling him to hurry up :  )

Unfortunately science and research funding are not faring well in the current political environment. The National Cancer Institute is facing billions of dollars of cuts, and NCI-designated cancer centers like DFCI and Dartmouth, which the Prouty supports, will be devastated by these cuts.
