Once again -- on Saturday, July 12th -- Jim and I will participate in the annual Prouty ride to support the important research that takes place at the Dartmouth Cancer Center in Lebanon, NH. We’ve been riding the Prouty since 2006 and, like every year before, we’ll be riding for the loved ones in our families and friend community who have been impacted by cancer. Unfortunately, as each year passes, the numbers have continued to grow.

This year we’ll be riding in honor of our friend Tom who succumbed to pancreatic cancer this past February. We’ll also be riding for those who are working with doctors and specialists to beat this onerous disease: Mariah, Jeanne, Jim, Becky, Jackie, Dennis, Kate, and so many others.

With the funding landscape for all kinds of medical research and support at a distressingly compromised point this year, fundraising efforts like the Prouty are more critical than ever. 

All of the funds I raise go toward cutting-edge cancer research and crucial patient support services at the Cancer Center. 

Here are two ways that you can help support patients, doctors and caregivers in the fight against cancer:

All funds raised will help fund innovative researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Prouty funds also provide meaningful patient and family support services that are otherwise unfunded—such as support groups, massage, art therapy programs, transportation and grocery assistance, and more.
