Wow, how time flies. Spring is in the rearview mirror and summer here in New England this week has been a scorcher. The Prouty is just 23 days away, and I pray that the weather is not like this week with temps in the 90's and high humidity. Ugggg.
I can't imagine how people suffering with a cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatments must feel in hot humid weather like this. It's so easy to take our health and well being for granted.
Good news is I'm well trained; I have several centuries and one monster ride of 145 miles under my belt. So I'm ready for the Prouty Ultimate.
However, my fundraising is a bit below par. I haven't pestered you all so much this year, but it's crunch time and I need your support.
Once again Jacky and I will be riding in memory of Jacky's step brother Nick and sister Caroline, along with numerous other family and friends who have been affected by cancer.
The Prouty is northern New England's largest family-friendly fundraising event combining cycling, walking, and rowing. All monies raised support life-saving research and critical patient and family support services at Dartmouth Cancer Center, a NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
So please help me help others and remember all monies raised will be matched 1 to 1 by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation.
