About the CHaD Storybook Ball

Each year, business leaders, philanthropists, and friends of CHaD gather to celebrate the wonder of youth and health of our children, and raise critically needed funds in support of CHaD, New Hampshire's comprehensive, full-service children's hospital.

In 2020, the difficult decision was made to cancel the Storybook Ball due to concerns over COVID-19. The decision was not taken lightly, but was the correct decision to make.

The 2019 winter wonderland-themed CHaD Storybook Ball raised over $204,000 for the children and families of CHaD. The magical evening featured beautifully designed tables and trees, as well as other festivities. Over 40 designers joined us to showcase their incredible talent and represent some of history’s most beloved children's storybooks and holiday traditions. The result: a magical winter wonderland with the power to evoke the inner child of all guests. A spectacular design and venue was not all that was extraordinary. The 2019 event also featured dinner, live and silent auctions, holiday trees, dancing, and an inspirational story of courage and perseverance from one of CHaD's inspiring patients.

An enchanted evening

CHaD, with the support of the state's most creative businesses and individuals will transform the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center into an unimaginable, awe-inspiring, fall-storybook-themed wonderland. Guests will enjoy an enchanted evening complete with dinner at a captivating, custom designed, storybook-themed table. Guests will also have the chance to bid on live and silent auction items.

Why support CHaD:

From the routine to the remarkable, CHaD providers and staff care for EVERY child regardless of their ability or inability to pay for the services they require. Philanthropy plays a critical role in sustaining and advancing the many important programs at CHaD. Caring for children costs more than caring for adults, yet reimbursements are much lower. Over 50% of our patients are Medicaid recipients and payments for their care cover only one-half of the expense. Support from our incredible donors, sponsors, and volunteers makes caring for the children of our community possible, and all play a vital role in sustaining CHaD's operations going forward.
