About the Game

The CHaD Battle of the Badges Baseball Classic pits local police officers and firefighters against each other in a battle of Good vs. Good to support the kids and programs at Dartmouth Health Children's. Founded in 2011, the annual rivalry game is played at the home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Delta Dental Stadium, in downtown Manchester.

The 2021 game marked a triumphant return from COVID-19's cancellation of the 2020 edition. Over $112,000 was raised for CHaD kids thanks to the great efforts of our first responders - police officers, corrections officers, and fire and rescue personnel!

HISTORY OF THE GAME

2011

The game was the brainchild of Nashua firefighter, Bill Shea, who wanted a way to help the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock (CHaD) to continue to offer the best medical care and family support in the state of New Hampshire. As a father, Shea recognized the importance of CHaD's mission and felt that this event would be a natural extension to the CHaD Battle of the Badges franchise, which includes the annual Police vs. Fire hockey game held each April.
