The Prouty Team is hard at work bringing back The Prouty this year, and we have run into a few challenges that have caused some changes for this year's event (like our Check In format!). The Prouty Opening Ceremony - Saturday, July 9

This year we’re introducing a new and important element to the Prouty Community - The Prouty Opening Ceremony.

The Opening Ceremony is an opportunity to unite as one powerful, cancer-fighting force before starting your Prouty. Come celebrate the Prouty community and their accomplishments, and hear moving stories about the Prouty’s impact from your fellow Prouty-ers.

Cyclists and Walkers:
6:45am for Ultimate Riders, 100- and 77-mile Cyclists and Gravel Riders
7:45am for 50- and 35-mile Cyclists and 10k Walkers
8:45am for 20-mile Cyclists and 5k, 6k and 3k Walkers
Prouty Venue, Richmond Middle School
63 Lyme Road, Hanover, NH

Cyclists will have a controlled start led by police escort for the first mile of the route.

7:00am at Kendal Riverfront Park

11:15am prior to the shotgun start, with a Closing Ceremony upon completion of play at Eastman Golf Links

Your Prouty will begin immediately following the Opening Ceremony.

Virtual participants and Indoor Prouty participants will receive an email on the morning of July 9 with our Opening Ceremony video. You’ll also be able to view the Opening Ceremony online at theprouty.org post-event.

Join us at the stage at Richmond Middle School on July 9 at 2:00pm to honor top fundraisers and teams, and honor our 2022 Heart of The Prouty honoree!

6:00am Check-In Open at Richmond Middle School (RMS)

7:00am Opening Ceremony for Rowers at Kendal Riverfront Park
7:45am Opening Ceremony for 50- and 35-mile Cyclists and 10k Walkers at RMS
8:45am Opening Ceremony for 20-mile Cyclists and 5k, 6k and 3k Walkers at RMS
11:00am All Day Prouty Party starts with food, music, kids' activities, and more!
2:00pm Awards Ceremony at RMS
3:00pm Walking support ends on all walk routes
3:30pm Cycling support ends on all cycling routes
4:00pm Food service and The Prouty venue closes

Parking Information for July 9

Preferred Parking will be available for all fundraisers who raise $2,500 by June 24, 2022. Participants who qualify for preferred parking will be contacted on June 27.

Prouty Cyclists can park at Dewey Parking Lot and take a shuttle or ride to the Prouty venue at Richmond Middle School. *Masks will be required and available on shuttles.

Prouty Walkers can park in any of the following locations:

  • Garipay Field Parking Lot
  • Reservoir Road (Garipay to the Day Care Center)
  • Dartmouth College Day Care Center
  • Ray School

A map can be downloaded here. Please know we do not offer shuttle serve to these locations because they are so close to the venue.

Event Check-In - Richmond Middle School

Thursday, July 7: 4:00 - 7:00pm
Friday, July 8: 4:00 - 7:00pm

Saturday July 9: 6:00 - 9:00am

Check in for The Prouty during any of the timeslots above! You'll pick up your Prouty t-shirt, Prouty Gear Rewards, and have a chance to purchase Prouty Commerce items. If you check in on Thursday or Friday, be sure to pick up a delicious cookie from our Cookie Station hosted by King Arthur Baking Company. Donations can be made at check-in to meet fundraising minimums.

Registration will look different this year! Due to Covid, we will not be able to provide a full pasta dinner on Friday during check-in, and will be having a delicious Cookie Station hosted by King Arthur Baking Company instead. We will have a full all-you-can-eat buffet available at the Food Tent on Saturday at Richmond Middle School after you participate in The Prouty, including Boloco burritos, hamburgers, hot dogs, and more from our Grill Tent, Dominos Pizza, and so much more!


Thanks to the generosity of Specialized, Dartmouth Cancer Center patients and survivors can use an E-bike (electric bike) for the Prouty on Saturday, July 9 free of charge. Interested participants are asked to speak to their physician to get approval to participate prior to signing up.

Space is limited. Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2022. Please note: participating cyclists must wear a helmet during their ride.

Program participants can pick-up their E-bike the morning of July 9 at Richmond Middle School at the Specialized tent. The bike will be fitted and adjusted on-site at the Specialized tent. Participants must bring a helmet.

Honoring Willem Jewett
The Specialized e-bike program was the inspiration of Willem Jewett, an inspirational Prouty cyclist and supporter. It is because of Willem’s passion and dedication to the Prouty that this program is possible.

Prouty T-shirts

Due to supply issues, we will only be able to offer unisex and youth participant, and unisex volunteer t-shirts this year. We plan to have ladies shirts back in 2023. Thank you for your understanding!

2023 Prouty Event Date

The 42nd Annual Prouty will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
