Why Whitney will ride 200 miles!!!! That is a great question! Please read to find out!!!!
This year, I will be participating in The Prouty along with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for Dartmouth Cancer Center. Together, we will go all in to end cancer.
First off, thank you for taking the time to click on my link and browse my page. I am so excited to do this bike ride for such a great cause. Cancer is something that I have unfortunately had to witness some of my loved ones and friends battle. Some have lost the battle and others fought like hell and were able to come out on the other side of this terrible disease.
Amy Tipple, thank you for introducing the Prouty to me and giving me the honor to ride beside a woman who has fought and beat cancer. Tipple I for you.
To everyone I know that has lost loved ones or has seen loved ones fight, I ride for you.
My dear friend Peter Adams is a survivor, his fight and determination to beat the disease was absolutely inspiring. Peter kicked cancer, Peter I ride for you.
My father in-law Edward Herrmann, whom passed away in 2014 from brain cancer. I only got to spend a few years with Ed, but his spirit and soul are never far from our house and the lives of his 3 amazing grandchildren and incredible daughter, my wife Ryen. Every once in a while we turn on Annie so the kids can sing with their grandfather. Edward I ride for you.
Just the fall I lost a a dear friend to cancer. Cynthia Howe, a woman who I cannot describe in words. She was my teacher, mentor, dorm mom, college counselor (poor woman), and so many other things in my life but most importantly she was my friend. Cynthia taught me that it was ok to not be ok and that things take work and time and just because it did not go my way first, to always try again. This poor woman probably got her grey hair from me alone. Cynthia I ride for you.
More than one third of all people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetimes.* It's a universal problem that touches everyone, including the most important people in our lives. That's why I joined The Prouty. All of the funds I raise go toward cutting-edge cancer research and crucial patient support services at the Cancer Center.

Here are two ways that you can help support patients, doctors and caregivers in the fight against cancer:
1. Join me! Register for The Prouty today.
2. Make a gift to my Prouty fundraiser and help me reach my goal. Click the 'donate' button to support my efforts in the 2023 Prouty.
All funds raised will help fund innovative researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Prouty funds also provide meaningful patient and family support services that are otherwise unfunded--such as support groups, massage, art therapy programs, transportation and grocery assistance, and more.
Thank you for your support!
Together, we are changing lives. Together, we will end cancer.
I am registered for the Prouty Ultimate in 2021.
