This is Why I Prouty
This year, I will be participating in The Prouty along with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for Dartmouth Cancer Center. Together, we will go all in to end cancer.
Four years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. My initial chemo included a monoclonal antibody that less than 20 years earlier had completely changed the prognosis for my specific cancer, making survival possible. I received a second monoclonal antibody that had been approved only a few years earlier, which further improved my prognosis. Then after surgery and radiation I received a new drug that had been approved only a month before it was recommended for me. THIS is the power of research -- real improvements in treatment for cancers that were once, not long ago, a death sentence. And the funds we raise through the Prouty help fund this kind of life-saving research.
But cancer treatment is still hard, in so many ways: physical, emotional and financial. The Prouty funds support for patients and their caregivers in all of these domains, to make the treatments bearable.
Here are two ways that you can help support patients, doctors, researchers and caregivers in the fight against cancer:
- Join me! Register for The Prouty today.
- Make a gift to my Prouty fundraiser and help me reach my goal. Click the ‘donate’ button to support my efforts in the 2023 Prouty.
All funds raised will help fund innovative researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Prouty funds also provide meaningful patient and family support services that are otherwise unfunded—such as support groups, massage, art therapy programs, transportation and grocery assistance, and more.
Thank you for your support!
Together, we are changing lives. Together, we will end cancer.

I am registered for the Prouty Row in 2021.
