This is Why I Prouty

I was fortunate during my long cancer treatment that I never had to worry about affording gas to get to the Cancer Center, or being too tired for the long drive home, or many other things that are common for many patients at NCCC. I only had to worry about trying to stay as healthy as possible and keep placing one foot in front of the other. Even so, it was a hard time, and the services provided through Prouty fundraising, like massages on treatment days, and the snack cart/basket were wonderful adjuncts to my treatment. For those with long drives, inadequate insurance and tight finances, funds raised by the Prouty can help with the absolute necessities, like gas cards that make treatment possible.
The treatments themselves were HARD. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. BUT my diagnosis was, not too long ago, a virtual death sentence, and I was able to get state-of-the-art treatments thanks to many decades of research at centers like Dartmouth. The Prouty supports research as well as timely patient supports.
On July 8-9, I will be rowing, with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Together, we will go all in to end cancer.
Here are two ways that you can help support patients, doctors and caregivers in the fight against cancer:
- Join me! Register for The Prouty today.
- Make a gift to my Prouty fundraiser and help me reach my goal. Click the ‘donate’ button to support my efforts in the 2022 Prouty.
All funds raised will help fund innovative researchers and clinicians who are dedicated to finding ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Prouty funds also provide meaningful patient and family support services that are otherwise unfunded—such as support groups, massage, art therapy programs, transportation and grocery assistance, and more.
Thank you for your support!
Together, we are changing lives. Together, we will end cancer.
