Join us to tackle cancer around world!
I am Dr. Ivy Riano, I am a 3rd year Hematology and Oncology Fellow at Dartmouth Cancer Center and an Instructor of Medicine at Geisel School of Medicine Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, USA. I received my Medical Degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia, and I moved to the U.S. to complete my Internal Medicine residency at MetroWest Medical Center/Tufts School of Medicine in Massachusetts, where I received the Isadore Nathan Rosenberg Clinical Research.
My clinical interests include targeted therapy for lung cancer, with a particular interest in mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy and the development of novel combinations of therapeutics agents for patients with lung cancer.
I am also leading research in Global Oncology and cancer health disparities. I am a gender equity advocate and is persistently searching for strategies to improve the representation of minorities in Academia.
I am currently conducting a pilot study in Rwanda. Title: “Point of care M2 Pyruvate Kinase Fecal Test for Detection of Gastric Cancer in Rwanda”. Trial approved by IRB at Dartmouth Health and University of Rwanda. Project launched in October 2022, currently enrolling patients. https://ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JCO.2023.41.16_suppl.e18530
This year, I will be participating in The Prouty along with thousands of my fellow community members who will bike, walk, row, golf and more to raise money for Dartmouth Cancer Center. I have seen firsthand the inequities in cancer care around the globe. I am convinced that together, we will go all in to end cancer.
I am registered for the Prouty Virtual in 2021.
