Rowan's Racers
Year 2 of Rowan’s Racers!
We are participating in the CHaD Hero again this year to raise money for CHaD and to show our ongoing appreciation for the care Rowan received in the ICN following his birth in April 2024. Rowan was hypoxic at birth and treated for HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy) -- 72 hours of therapeutic hypothermia on a cooling blanket to allow his brain to heal. Rowan was also fighting PPHN (persistent pulmonary hypertension of a newborn) due to his inability to breath after birth. He went through a lot in his first couple weeks of life: intubation, bilateral pneumothoraces, an EEG, X-rays, nitric oxide treatment, an MRI, IVs and countless blood draws, CPAP, oxygen, a feeding tube, and more. We are so thankful to every provider, nurse, respiratory therapist, SLP, OT, lactation consultant (and more) who helped care for Rowan during this time. It’s because of CHaD and the amazing staff at DHMC’s ICN that Rowan is now a happy, healthy 1 year old!
Rowan continues to receive excellent care from CHaD and his TLC Clinic providers, cardiology, audiology, and more!
Please consider joining his team or donating to a great cause!

For the Kids and Families Who Need it Most.
At this year’s CHaD HERO we are celebrating supporting vital services throughout Dartmouth Health Children’s and CHaD, including the Child Life Program, Molly's Place, the Child Advocacy & Protection Program, and more.
Regardless of size, every donation matters, and I sincerely appreciate your support on behalf of Dartmouth Health Children’s. Here are some reasons I'm asking for your donation:
- Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) is New Hampshire's only children's hospital
Thanks to the continued generosity of The Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation, all CHaD HERO participant funds will be matched 1-to-1 (until the match is complete). This means any donation you contribute will be doubled. How’s that for impact?!
