CHaD HERO 2024

Charleigh's Angels

Charleigh was born at 34 weeks and 6 days. When she was born she was blue and not breathing. She was rushed to the ICN and intubated. After getting surfactant she was able to be extubated within a couple hours and placed on a CPAP machine for breathing. Our stay in the ICN was right before Christmas and the staff there made it an amazing time. Every day it seemed like we were blessed with a gift from different donations. And if it wasn't for the volunteer services we wouldn't have been able to give our other daughter a Christmas as close to normal as we could. The amazing staff helped us make it home just in time for Christmas with our newest angel.

Charleigh's battle wasn't over after coming home from CHaD. On her due date she was admitted to the PICU for periods of apnea causing bradycardia. It was an agonizing time we spent there watching our baby, not knowing what was going to happen. Once again the amazing staff helped us and got us back home. She was admitted again a month later to CHaD for more respiratory issues, but luckily that stay wasn't as long as previous ones.

Without CHaD I don't think we would be where we are today with our beautiful angel. Though Charleigh still is having breathing issues, we are working closely with different departments at CHaD to get to the bottom of it. She is the strongest little girl we know and know she got all that strength from her Great Grandfather who passed away after her last hospitalization.

Our family could not be more thankful for CHaD. We hope you are able to help us raise money for them so they can continue to help other families like ours.

For the Kids and Families Who Need it Most.

This October, we’re teaming up for the 19th Annual CHaD HERO to raise crucial funds for Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). Join us or support us with a donation today!

The CHaD HERO is a community fundraising event whose proceeds fund vital services throughout Dartmouth Health Children’s and CHaD, including the Child Life Program, Molly's Place, the Child Advocacy & Protection Program, and more.

Your Donation Matters – and can be doubled today!

Regardless of size, every donation matters, and we sincerely appreciate your support on behalf of Dartmouth Health Children’s. Here are some reasons we're asking for your donation:

  • Dartmouth Health Children’s serves 90,000 unique pediatric patients annually from across Northern New England
  • Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) is New Hampshire's only children's hospital
  • No child is ever turned away due to financial or insurance circumstances

Thanks to the continued generosity of The Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation, all CHaD HERO participant funds will be matched 1-to-1 (until the match is complete)*. This means any donation you contribute will be doubled. How’s that for impact?!

Thank you in advance for your support! HEROES together!
