Your CHaD HERO Day

The CHaD HERO is so much more than a run or walk, it's a full and fun-filled day to celebrate and support the kids and families of Dartmouth Health Children's and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). In addition to our half-marathon, 5K run, 5K walk, and Cam's Course 1-mile Fun Run options, there's something for everyone at our HERO festival!

The HERO Festival

The hub of HERO activity is our HERO Festival. Located on the scenic Dartmouth Green, participants, family and friends can enjoy a full array of activities at the festival. Complete 2023 details are still being confirmed, but here's what you can expect at the HERO Festival:

  • Start/Finish Celebrations
  • Music and entertainment from our main stage
  • Kid zone with activities for kids of all ages!
  • Food and drink for participants (and food trucks for spectators!)
  • Sponsor giveaways
  • Medical
  • Race timing for 5K Run and Half Marathon
  • Complimentary shuttles from event parking areas

2023 CHaD HERO Event Timeline*

You asked, we listened! Thanks to the feedback from many of our runners, walkers and volunteers over the years, we have updated our event day timeline and shifted the CHaD HERO start times. Our hope is that this makes the CHaD HERO that much easier to take part in and we are grateful to the numerous community groups, organizations and local jurisdictions for their support of this change. Our 2023 event timeline is below.

Friday, October 13

3:00 - 7:00 PM: Bib/t-shirt pick up and in-person registration

Saturday, October 14

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Bib/t-shirt pick up and in-person registration

Event Day: Sunday, October 15

7:30 - 10:00 AM: Bib/t-shirt pick up and day of registration @ Hanover Inn

*Event day registrations will include a $10 registration fee (in addition to any applicable fundraising minimum) — we encourage you to register in advance!*

8:50 AM: Opening Program

9:00 AM: Half-Marathon, 5K Run, & 5K Walk Start

9:30 AM: Participant Food Tent Opens

9:30 AM: Kid Zone Opens

10:00 AM: Cam's Course 1 Mile Family Fun Run Starts

10:00 AM: Food Trucks Open to Purchase Food

1:00 PM: Course Support Ends

1:30 PM: Event Concludes
