CHaD HERO 2025

Waylon's Warriors

Our WHY:
Waylon Joseph, Our son.. was born on February 2, 2025 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. At our 20 week anatomy scan Waylon was diagnoses with Gastroschesis; a birth defect where a baby's intestines (and sometimes other organs) protrude outside of the body through a hole in the abdomen wall usually near the belly button. Although a terrifying situation, Dartmouth educated and prepared us every step of the way. We spent 32 days in the ICN under the careful eye of amazing medical professionals who made an unbearable situation, a little easier. Every single Surgeon, Neonatologist, RN, Dietitian, PT/OT, and Lactation Consultant withheld the storm of my questions and constant worry without a single amount of judgement. Our family and especially our son would not have made it through without the care, compassion, and medical professionalism without them.. The least we could do is raise money to help support them. Please join our team, or donate in leu of Gastroschesis awareness, our courageous son Waylon, and the amazing team at CHaD who made his success possible.

For the Kids and Families Who Need it Most.

This October, we’re teaming in the CHaD HERO to raise crucial funds for Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). Join us or support us with a donation today!

The CHaD HERO is a community fundraising event whose proceeds fund vital services throughout Dartmouth Health Children’s and CHaD, including the Child Life Program, Molly's Place, the Child Advocacy & Protection Program, and more.

Your Donation Matters – and can be doubled today!

Regardless of size, every donation matters, and we sincerely appreciate your support on behalf of Dartmouth Health Children’s. Here are some reasons we're asking for your donation:

-Dartmouth Health Children’s serves 90,000 unique pediatric patients annually from across Northern New England
-Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) is New Hampshire's only children's hospital
-No child is ever turned away due to financial or insurance circumstances

Thanks to the continued generosity of The Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation, all CHaD HERO participant funds will be matched 1-to-1 (until the match is complete). This means any donation you contribute will be doubled. How’s that for impact?!

Thank you in advance for your support! HEROES together!
