About the Game

Celebrating our tenth game (eleventh year) in 2021, the CHaD Battle of the Badges Baseball Classic pits local police officers and firefighters against each other in a battle of Good vs. Good to support the kids and programs at CHaD. The annual rivalry game is played at the home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Delta Dental Stadium, in downtown Manchester.

In 2020, the game was cancelled by COVID-19 despite the teams raising nearly $30,000 before the cancellation. The teams still got together for a Hearts-in-Action fundraiser with Team Police earning the victory in the fundraising venture. Team Fire will look to snap a three-game Badges losing streak on Aug. 20, 2021.

HISTORY OF THE GAME

2011

The game was the brainchild of Nashua firefighter, Bill Shea, who wanted a way to help CHaD to continue to offer the best medical care and family support in the state. As a father, Shea recognized the importance of CHaD's mission and felt that this event would be a natural extension to the CHaD Battle of the Badges franchise, which includes the annual Police vs. Fire hockey game held each April.
