The Prouty provides seed-funding to visionary scientists at Dartmouth Cancer Center who are dedicated to discovering new and better ways to treat cancer and enhance survivorship.
The impact is exponential. On average, every $1 The Prouty invests in research through Prouty Pilot Grants leads to $13 in additional funding from other sources.

Life-Saving Clinical Trials

Clinical trials give patients access to cutting-edge, next-generation treatments that can dramatically improve outcomes. Prouty funds help advance and expand clinical trials at Dartmouth Cancer Center.
Currently, there are 210 open clinical trials at Dartmouth Cancer Center. Your support ensures more patients can access these potentially life-saving treatments.
Patient And Family Support Services
Hope starts with compassionate care.
At Dartmouth Cancer Center, we don’t treat a disease–we treat the person. That means going beyond medical treatment to provide the support services that ease the cancer journey for patients and their loved ones.
Each year, The Prouty helps fund thousands of instances of meaningful support–all free of charge through the Complementary Care Program. These services include massage therapy, art and music therapy, support groups, transportation assistance, and so much more. It’s care that goes beyond what’s offered in the hospital, and it’s why our patients consistently rank Dartmouth Cancer Center in the top 1% of regional cancer centers.

Healing Harvest: Nourishment as Medicine
Hope starts at the table.
Food insecurity shouldn’t be part of anyone’s cancer story. But heartbreakingly, far too many patients at Dartmouth Cancer Center face this challenge. Prouty funds support Healing Harvest, our food pantry that provides nutritious food to patients who need it most.
We know that proper nutrition improves patient outcomes and reduces stress during treatment. Food is medicine. And your support ensures every patient has access to it.
Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing
Hope starts with healing the whole person.
A cancer diagnosis affects the body and mind, impacting emotional health in profound ways. Anxiety, depression, stress, and more are common companions on the cancer journey, affecting both patients and their loved ones.
In 2025, The Prouty awarded $1 million to help Dartmouth Cancer Center expand mental health services, hire more providers, and create more equitable access to this vital care. Because true healing addresses both the body and mind.
